given this award in 2009 for her work with the snake
charmers, a community she worked with for over ten
years.

The CMS VATAVARAN 2014 Award winners were
selected by a jury comprising 13 eminent personalities
from widely divergent sectors and streams
representing environment & wildlife, film, media
and communication headed by veteran actor Amol
Palekar. The documentary talks about the state of the
river Ganga that touches the lives of millions and how
its potential is being harnessed. It shows the pursuit of
rampant construction of power projects and how they
threaten the very existence of the river
